About Me

Hi, I'm Lynette!

Registered Nurse-BSN, Certified Integrative Health Coach, Functional Medicine Nurse, Fitness Enthusiast, Wife and Mom of an amazing young adult son and daughter!

My passion is helping women who are encountering challenges in their health. Our bodies change differently during each season of life (teen years, young adult, perimenopause and menopause) and my goal is to act as your guide and advocate to help you understand how the body reacts to these seasonal shifts and search for the root cause.

As a functional nurse I will work with you on a deeper level through one on one communication, detailed assessment, lab work, education and work with you to uncover the root cause(s) of your symptoms or condition and develop a plan uniquely structured to align with your life, move toward healing and improve your health by incorporating small doses of lifestyle adjustments, targeted supplementation and remove obstacles that would allow your body to recover.

My Journey

At the age of fifteen, I had my first encounter with a vaginal yeast infection which was cleared after 7 days of using a prescription fungal cream. Through the rest of my teen years and my 20’s, I would have occasional vaginal yeast infections but they started to come back more frequently and became more difficult to treat. The worst bout came in my very early 30’s when I had a vaginal yeast infection each month for 11 months! At this point I knew there had to be more to fixing the problem because treating it with prescription cream was not helping anymore. After some time and research, I discovered my issue went beyond the symptom that was presenting and I had to treat the yeast systemically. I changed my lifestyle to eating clean, no sugar or processed foods and within a month my symptoms cleared. I continued this lifestyle change for 4 months and gradually re-introduced sugar, yeast and processed foods in very small amounts. This was over 20 years ago and I have never had another vaginal yeast infection!

Fast forward a few years and my mild mannered, calm 8 year old son's behavior changed in what seemed like 24 hours. He became restless, had difficulty going to sleep and was defiant. After a couple months of this I took him to his pediatrician. I was given a quick diagnosis of ADHD. I disagreed and left without agreeing to place my son on medication. I sought the help of a functional medicine practitioner and after a detailed assessment and lab work, the results showed my son had a very low level of serotonin, vitamin deficiencies and yeast in his blood. He was placed on supplements and a clean diet. After 2 months, I got my son back! He was calm, focused, slept well and was generally happier!

Recently, (the last 6-7 years), I have had the pleasure (not so much) to go through the perimenopause and menopausal seasons. Not fun!! Once again I had to navigate through this season as my own advocate. I’ve had to research and try things in an effort to feel better. Fortunately I was able to find help and direction through the nurse practitioner with my OB/GYN Physician. She was more open and knowledgeable about natural and functional health. Through lifestyle modifications, my own education and her guidance, I am more balanced and focused physically and mentally.

These experiences changed the trajectory of my thinking and I realized our health as a society was at risk. We are busier, our food is not as nutritious as it used to be because the soil is nutrient depleted and we move less because sedentary work has become more prevalent. These factors contribute to how we feel physically and mentally.

To gain more knowledge on a deeper level, I received my health coaching certification from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition then continued my education and obtained my certification as a functional health nurse. I combine my education as an RN, Health coach, functional nurse plus my own experience personally, to help other women not only improve and regain their health but understand it. Together we can make positive changes and implement a path toward improving your health and feel better!
